Materials
Materials we cut and form
Sheet and plate metals for brackets, guards, panels, fixtures, and repair parts. Each material is available in multiple grades and thicknesses to match your application. Need something specific? Include it in your quote request.

Mild steel
Grades: A36, 1008/1018, HRPO
Thickness: 20 ga–1/2"
Good weldability and cost-effective strength for general-purpose brackets, fixtures, guards, and repair parts.

Stainless steel
Grades: 304, 316 by request
Thickness: 20 ga–1/2"
Corrosion-resistant choice for guards, panels, covers, and brackets. 304 is the common default; 316 suits harsher corrosion environments.

Aluminum
Grades: 5052-H32, 3003, 6061-T6 by request
Thickness: .050"–1/2"
Lightweight material for panels, covers, brackets, and prototypes. 5052/3003 form better; 6061 is stronger but less bend-friendly.

Galvanized steel
Grades: G90 / pre-galvanized sheet
Thickness: 20 ga–10 ga
Practical option for outdoor covers, brackets, and guards needing light-duty corrosion resistance. Cut edges may need protection; cutting/welding requires care and proper ventilation.

Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about custom laser-cut and bent metal parts, files, materials, lead times, and quoting.
Files and quoting
What kinds of parts can you quote?+
We quote custom laser-cut and bent metal parts such as brackets, plates, panels, covers, guards, fixtures, enclosures, repair parts, and repeat production components. These are examples only — if your part can be made from sheet or plate metal, send the details and we’ll review what is realistic.
Do I need a CAD file?+
A CAD file is ideal, especially DXF, DWG, STEP, or PDF drawings. If you do not have CAD, you can still send a dimensioned sketch, photo, or notes. We may ask follow-up questions before quoting if dimensions, material, bends, or tolerances are unclear.
What file types can I upload?+
You can upload DXF, DWG, STEP, PDF, sketches, photos, and ZIP files. If you have multiple parts, you can upload them together and include quantities and notes for each part.
Can you help if I only have a sketch or photo?+
Yes. A clear sketch or photo with key dimensions can be enough to start the quoting process. For accurate production, we may need to confirm dimensions, hole sizes, bend details, material, thickness, and finish before making the part.
How fast can I get a quote?+
Most quote requests are reviewed within 1 business day. More complex jobs, missing details, unusual materials, or multiple-part packages may take longer because we review manufacturability, pricing, and expected lead time before replying.
Can you quote one part, or do I need a minimum order?+
You can request a quote for one-off parts, repeat batches, or production runs. Pricing depends on setup time, material, cutting, bending, finishing, and quantity. Larger quantities usually reduce the per-part cost.
Do you provide instant online pricing?+
No. GetPartsMade does not provide instant quoting. Each request is reviewed so we can check manufacturability, material, process, finish, and lead time before sending a clear quote.
Materials and production
What materials do you work with?+
Common materials include mild steel / carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and galvanized steel. Availability depends on grade, thickness, quantity, bending requirements, and supplier stock. If you are not sure which material is best, choose “Not sure / need recommendation” in the quote form.
What thicknesses can you quote?+
We can quote common sheet and plate thicknesses from light-gauge material up to heavier plate sizes such as 1/8 in, 3/16 in, 1/4 in, 5/16 in, 3/8 in, and 1/2 in. Exact availability depends on material, process, quantity, and whether bending is required.
Can every thickness be bent?+
Not always. Bending depends on material type, thickness, bend length, inside radius, tooling, and part geometry. Thicker parts may be laser-cut only or may require design adjustments. We review manufacturability before quoting.
Do you offer finishing?+
Yes, finishing options may include deburring, powder coating, paint, galvanized material, or other finish requirements depending on the job. Include your preferred finish in the quote request, or choose “Not sure / need recommendation.”
Do you offer welding or assembly?+
Some projects may include welding, hardware, or simple assembly requirements. Add the details in the quote form and we’ll review whether it fits the job. If a project requires specialized assembly or fabrication, we’ll clarify what is possible before quoting.
Can you help improve a part for manufacturability?+
Yes. We review common manufacturability issues such as bend details, hole spacing, hole-to-edge distance, tolerances, material thickness, finish requirements, and unclear dimensions. If something may cause problems, we’ll flag it before production.
Lead time and delivery
How fast can parts be ready?+
Eligible jobs can be ready in as little as 4 business days. Lead time depends on material availability, part complexity, quantity, finishing, bending, and current workload. The confirmed timeline will be included in your quote.
Do you offer pickup, local delivery, or shipping?+
Yes. Depending on the job and location, parts can be prepared for pickup, local delivery, or shipment. Include your preference in the quote request so we can factor it into the timeline and pricing.
Do you only serve Southern Ontario?+
GetPartsMade is based in Southern Ontario and is built for practical local communication, pickup, delivery, and regional service. We can also review projects that may be shipped outside the immediate local area depending on size, quantity, and requirements.
